What Jesus Meant
I just finished reading What Jesus Meant it was written by Garry wills. This is my first book I have been assigned for my formation. Before I read this book I understood the life, and that it was more than just words on a page, But it was never fully explained to me or experienced by me. After reading the first few chapters I realized this was going to be a good book. I learned all about the lifestyle, and the things considered unclean by the church, I thought the list was unending. I used to think Jesus was thought of as a good man, but by m0st he was hated and considered a radical. Anyway back to topic it really opened me up in my spiritual life.
It was all okay until I arrived at chapter 6 where everything was emphasized. This is where it had an affect on me about how horrible the truth was about the cruxifiction( I don’t know how to spell it) , yet how powerful and great this symbolized along with the sense that Jesus was man too. The other part that got me was that when we ate the bread of Christ, we were Christ. This also showed how our formation was in the same way of baking and making bread. Every time I go to church it won’t just be church but it will be the house of god, In God’s pressence.
As I said in the beginning, Before I read this book I understood the life, and that it was more than just words on a page, But it was never fully explained to me or experienced by me, I have know experienced it. Prayer is not reading words of a page but being present with god. I Have been told this, but not read it like this. When I am in prayer I am Jesus, I am Christ. When I am in church the feeling is mutual. I have now been fully awakened in my prayer life and plan to live a life in the presence with god.
AMEN
